What are you afraid of?
This morning as I was praying and pouring out my fears to God, He said “trust me”. If you’re anything like me, you have 17 more questions after this. Mostly “but HOWWWW?” Because He‘s a patient and loving Dad, He showed me:
Imagine all of your fears as a tree. How long has it been growing? How big is it?
You’ve gone after this tree in prayer so many times-picking off leaves of fear of what people think, ripping off branches of fears about your marriage or children, sometimes even taking trimmers to fears of finance or your future and really getting after it determined to conquer this thing.
So why do we keep fearing? We have to UPROOT this tree.
God revealed to me that at the root of every single fear of mine is NOT ENOUGH. Not having enough or not being enough. Take some time and ask Him what your root is.
So how do we uproot?
“Truly, I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain ‘Go throw yourself in the sea’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them”.
If Jesus told me I can move a mountain, I can surely move a tree, right?!
1. Speak to it. Find verses on your specific fear and speak the word of truth over it. Google “bible verses about _____“-nothing fancy needed.
2. Trust. This is where I realized I was falling short. We have to replace that fear tree with a trust tree. Roots of fear are only going to continue to produce fruits of fear.
So how do we trust? (I told you I had 17 more questions)
1. Plant the trust seed=baby steps. When you feel the nudge to give money-do it. When you feel like He is leading you to pray with or for someone-do it. This builds our trust muscles.
2. Water the trust seed=declaring God‘s word regarding trust. He wants to help us trust Him.
I would love to stand in agreement with you, so feel free to comment or message me. 💗
If you’re still with me and want a cheat sheet on verses to DECLARE (that means speaking in 1st person with belief and authority)...here you go!
