Who Is SHE?
What would your life look like if you REALLY believed God’s promises?
I mean, really. Could the name you give yourself change? Worrier into Warrior? Broken into Beautiful? Fearful into Fearless?
Sis - I’m right there with you. That whole renewing of the mind daily thing? Tough. We start out great. Maybe even begin the day in the word, putting on the full armor, ready to conquer life and everyone in it. Then we check social media, and our friend Comparison calls. Then we get to work, and good ‘ol Anxiety emails. Then we get to the gym (get it girl!), and Insecurity is right there on the treadmill. Finally, we get home, and sitting at the table are Not Enough and Overwhelmed ready to eat. As we close our eyes for the night knowing tomorrow will be better, Defeat sends one last late night text.
I need you to know this is not the life God, your Father, designed for you. He promises in Jeremiah 29:11 that He knows the plans He has for us-to give us a hope and a future. And honey, He promises so much more.
She Who Believed is where we read, learn, proclaim, and give birth to God’s promises. Whether you are in college, single, married, trying to make babies *raises both hands and feet*, have kiddos, are a full-time career woman, or stay home-there are promises for you.
I am honored that you are here. My full name is Rebecca Renee’ Starks. The fam calls me Becca-feel free since we are girls now. I live in Omaha Nebraska. I am crazy in love with Jesus. I am a leader of SALT, a 20’s and 30’s ministry at Eagle’s Nest Worship Center. I am married to “the one He kept for me” (our wedding song by Maurette Brown Clark). Cheesy? Maybe. However, I truly believe God kept Fred for me. And I love cheese. So there.
What really gets me going? ENCOURAGEMENT. I live to encourage other women in every step of their walk with God. My life goal is to see God’s daughters truly believe His promises.
She Who Believed was birthed from Luke 1:45 “Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her”. It was actually conceived while we were trying to conceive. It began as a not-so-gentle whisper (ya know-like those 3-year-olds pretending to whisper in deep raspy voices kind) from God. As we kept the story secret from everyone in our lives, just as I had with every single other faith-shaking story of my life, I would cry out to God, “I am so alone!!!”. “You chose to be” is what He lovingly showed. And at that moment, I promised Him that I would commit my life to make sure no other woman ever felt alone. Childhood abandonment, sexual assault, physical assaults, cancer attacks, infertility, IVF, miscarriages, dream career loss all stood no match to my God. So I promise to be here for you. With realness. With transparency. With encouragement. With His promises in hand. I promise.
As my late grandmother, Grandma Jo, wrote at the end of every single note and birthday card:
God loves you and so do I,
